I have been doing some research on how to tell if your Wiikey is a clone or not. There has been many complaints that purchasers of the wiikey have gotten a fake or clone wiikeys. Especially since the Official wiikey.cn website has been down to give feedback on this issue alot of the public doesn’t know on what to look for or just go and search wiikey in google product search and thats not always as it seems.

Heres what to look for on the chip besides the Official Wiikey Hologram Sticker that you get when ordering the “Official Wiikey”

Prior Posts state that “Several users on the MaxConsole forums have confirmed that they received clone (counterfeit) Wiikey chips when ordering from Divineo.cn It seems some users were shipped real chips and some were clones. Other retailers have also been called into question in the MaxConsole thread.

This is an obvious attempt by a competing manufacturer, who is diluting the original stock with clones in an attempt to ruin the solid reputation of Wiikey. As we’ve said before, only order from OFFICIAL resellers listed on the Wiikey site to ensure you will get a 100% authentic working chip.

Divineo has been knowingly manufacturing and with help from their mouthpiece MaxConsole have been distributing WiiKey clones for some time now, But from my personal experience i think that just make sure you get your wiikey from a Official Wiikey Reseller. like xbox-modchips.com. But its hard to tell now a days.
