Half-Life 2 : Episode 2

This episode continues the Half-Life 2 saga but with some “great” additions (like a Mustang-dune buggy or a flashlight that’s not wired to your suit that drains so much freakin’ electricity you could power your home with for a year or a huge bridge that defies every law of physics…but the people think it’s cool). I’m not quite impressed by Valve’s attempt to make HL2 into an episode mash-up because it feels like waiting for dinner…until next year…and so on.
Not much changed in this episode, same weapons, same people, same suit, same mute hero, same atmosphere, same enemies (except the hunters and acidlions) etc.. I mentioned before “hunters”… these guys are like Satan’s minions sent on earth to beat the living crap out of Gordon, they’re fast, agile, almost goddamn immortal, and of course DEADLY (if you’re cornered by one…quick load…), these suckers are tough to kill but when they DO die you feel relieved for 2-3 seconds till the second one shows up and so on.
The “acidlions” are a pest when u invade the antlion hive..they’re like insect snipers and their acid hurts (like xenomorphs in the Alien series), they look like huge green ants and it’s fun to watch them be killed by the vortigaunt that’s following you ^^.
The last map was fun…driving trough the woods…destroying stryders then REPEAT (only harder). Each wave of stryders gets harder and harder until they bring their party-palls, the Hunters and it soon becomes a run-pickup sticky bomb-destroy strider-run for dear life-repeat fest that culminates in a “Yeey you did it Mr.Freeman…I knew you would do it” kinda’ thanks :((
All-in-all the game was not great but not bad either, and the time spent finishing it was equal to watching an illegal chicken fight (too short goddammit…TOO SHORT) so it’s worth playing if you’re a huge fan of the HL series (like my bro) or just bored from watching spiders have sexual-relations it the corner above your bed.
